According to the Victorian Work Cover Authority, you must provide a safe and healthy workplace for your workers and contractors.

This includes providing and maintaining safe plant (such as machinery and equipment). Penalties for breaches of the Occupational Health & Safety Act 2004 were substantially increased. The maximum penalties are now $943,290 for companies and $188,658 for individuals.

In accordance with AS/NZS 3760:2010, electrical equipment and appliances should be inspected, tested and tagged at intervals no greater than 12 months dependant on the environment and equipment.
